Let's help our friend Shagor get to Indonesia to surf!
Shagor, 21, grew up in the coastal town of Cox's Bazar with his mother, brother and sister.
As a child, Shagor used to sing on the beach for tourists to make money to support his family.
Every day while working on the beach, Shagor used to watch the surfers and wish he could join them one day.
In 2010, when Shagor was 8 years old, local surfer Sifat taught Shagor to surf and gave him a surf board. Ever since then, Shagor has been hooked on surfing.
Now, Shagor works at the JAAGO Foundation School in Cox's Bazar, teaching local kids with a similar upbringing to him, how to surf. These children cannot attend regular schools as they need to work to support their families during the day. This special school gives children the opportunity to get an education, get a meal, and learn to surf. He is also the club captain No Dorai (Dare to Surf) Club, teaching kids how to surf, swimming training and water safety.
Shagor would love to go to Indonesia this April 2023 to get even better at the sport. He dreams of bigger waves and wants to learn from other local surfers of how to improve his skills. In December, there is a surfing competition in Chennai, India that Shagor would like to compete in, but the waves in Bangladesh are not big enough to practice on. Shagor would love to perfect his surf skills on bigger waves in Bali before the competition.
In the future, Shagor would love to be an Olympic surfer. He also would love to start his own surf club, teaching children from Bangladesh how to surf. He would love to bring people from around the world to surf in Bangladesh.

Overall, we are trying to raise USD$1500 for the trip. This includes:
- $650 for flights
- $140 for visa
- $360 for accommodation
- $350 for food
