Introducing RESTAGE,  where we’re pioneering Brain Performance Training in the music industry so artists can “restage” their power, precision, and presence as an artist by stimulating areas of the brain responsible for performance success through movement and exercise.

RESTAGE was founded by Liz Arlene, a performance specialist with 13 years of experience in training Olympic and professional athletes and touring musicians.  Liz started out in sports as a manual therapist and strength & conditioning trainer, but realized that the techniques that were being taught didn’t always work, so she got her Master’s studying the nervous system and how nerves drive muscles.  That solved a few of the questions about techniques, but not all of them, so Liz went back to research and started studying what controls all of that - which is the brain. 

She then developed a unique proprietary training program built around stimulating the specific areas of the brain responsible for performance success through movement, exercises, and manual therapy. 

In the sports world, Liz made a name for herself as the person who would “fix” things when others had seen various doctors, trainers, and PTs without results. She never quits on a client. 

Liz's distinctive and efficacious approach led her to working with Olympic and professional teams! She was a manual therapist for the 2016 Olympic Team at the USA Headquarters clinic for the athletes coming home from Rio.  Then in 2018 she fully supported TEAM USA at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Games in South Korea! And again in 2022, Liz was on TEAM USA at Headquarters working with stateside athletes.  

Outside of the Olympic Team, Liz has had her own practice in multiple states. While in Oklahoma City working with the FC Energy soccer team and private clients, Liz began working with touring musicians and realized there was a HUGE hole in how musicians are treated and what performance recovery resources they have. Liz had previously worked with some of the Denver Symphony’s musicians, so Liz was not new to music, but it wasn’t until the touring artists and crews did she understand how much of a need there was!

In sports, an injury rate of about 10% is on the high end, in music, injury rates are reported up to 80-90%!  Sports teams of 20-30 athletes have entire medical and training staff! Music? Nope. Not only that, but the musicians who found doctors or physical therapists were treated like the general population.  Your PT didn’t have you bring in your cello to see why you developed crippling shoulder pain?! WHAT?! It would be like having an athletic trainer who never stepped foot on a field or watched his athletes. It makes no sense. 

So Liz set out to change the industry and moved to Nashville in 2021 to launch RESTAGE.

But, life doesn't always go as planned.

Shortly after moving to Nashville, Liz’s mom was diagnosed with cancer. Liz moved her mother to Nashville to live with her so she could take care of her through the chemo treatments and RESTAGE was put on pause. Then, Liz herself was diagnosed with an autoimmune issue that will leave her on some pricey meds for the time being. Throw in some big house emergency repairs and RESTAGE funds had been eaten away by life's curveballs.

Liz's mom is recovering, the house is fixed, and this slight detour led Liz to cross paths with Britain, RESTAGE's amazing new business manager. Liz & Britain are an incredibly hard-working team of single moms, supporting their families on their own, and excited to bring RESTAGE to Music City!
