Linus' story:

Linus came into our lives as a 7-month-old puppy, gifted to us by our neighbors who were moving and wanted him to have a loving home. Since then, he has become a cherished member of our family, bringing joy and love to our hearts.

Unfortunately, Linus has been facing some health challenges recently. A year after we got him, we discovered that his frequent limping episodes were not just sprains, as we had previously been assured by vets. Two weeks ago, after getting his rabies vaccine, he became lethargic and wasn't getting better. A urine test showed that he had ingested one of our son's anti-seizure medications, and he had to be hospitalized for a day.

Despite the treatment, Linus' ability to walk has changed and we have been to the vet and a neurologist numerous times. The emergency vet is now keeping him overnight for observation after he had blood in his poop today and are set to do an MRI in the morning to determine if he has a lesion on his cervical spine or brain. The results of the MRI will determine whether he needs surgery, medication, or if we will have to make the difficult decision to put him down.

We are reaching out to ask for your help. The vet and medical bills have become astronomical, and if Linus is a candidate for surgery the neurologist estimated 10-15k plus a long recovery. *It should be noted that our insurance coverage is limited to a maximum of $7,000, which only covers 50% of the total bill. While I have often expressed gratitude for having insurance, it is important to understand that it only provides minimal financial relief in the grand scheme of things
