Hope Haven Centre is a charitable organization that operates its therapeutic riding, near Markdale Ontario. Recently one of its horses, Princess, contracted Potomac Horse Fever, a potentially fatal illness. Princess pulled through.
Hope Haven is a special place where individuals with intellectual, physical or emotional challenges can explore their potential in an environment that encourages them to try new experiences while enjoying the learning process.
Some of our horses at Hope Haven are at the end of their riding careers and are in need of a place to retire comfortably. We have the space and the manpower, but the care of these very special friends is costly. Please support our Retirement Horse Fund.
As a therapeutic riding horse (I think of myself as a therapist), I perform an important job for my clients (humans of all ages with disabilities). I help them feel good about themselves by focusing on abilities. You can help make a difference too!
