My name is Duke and I am a rescue horse. A very caring horsewoman who works at Hope Haven found me at a wonderful rescue farm. I knew the minute she turned up that my future would be filled with healing others at Hope Haven. You see, I bear the scars of some past wounds. My rescue home took great care to heal my body and mind, and now I have the training and wisdom to help rescue others. I have very special healing hoofs that safely carry my special riders with intellectual, physical or emotional challenges. I am exceptionally brave (and some say quite handsome!) and not a bit scared of dogs, or toys, or trampolines, and even snakes! The best part of my day at Hope Haven is hearing the exclamations of joy from my riders who finally feel the freedom of movement and play, and I can actually feel their self-confidence blossom from my broad and dependable back.

I am blessed as a rescue horse to help so many people live better lives, and I am rewarded by so many hugs and smiles.  I have LOTS of important therapy work to do at Hope Haven and many more people to help, but in order to do this I really need YOU! All of my therapy horse friends and all of the great people at Hope Haven depend 100% on the donations provided by wonderful people like you. And every dollar you give goes directly towards our care and programs and absolutely everything that helps us to give hope to so many.
