Hello!
My name is Fred and, as a Norwegian Fjord Horse, I'm not exactly your average therapist. I live and work on a beautiful 142-acre farm called Hope Haven which is a CanTRA-accredited Therapeutic Riding Centre located in Grey County, Ontario, Canada. I'm 20 years old and have been assisting children and adults with disabilities for the past few years by just being wonderful me.
The magic starts with the unusual connection between me and the rider. If you watch us together, you'll see the bond of trust that happens right away. Every week, we work together to build self-confidence, make connections with others and discover abilities they never knew they had.
I have been lucky to see so many amazing transformations and so many smiles. Children who did not like traditional physiotherapy can't wait to groom and work with their new physiotherapist ... me! Young adults who had nothing to share at home anticipate the next family meal to share stories about ... me! Adults who feel a little lost discover exciting new abilities and that's pretty special.
I have lots of important work still to do and many more people to help but, in order to do this, I need your help.
