Wall of Hope 11x17 Art Print
to Books for All Ages, Stories for All Time
by Community Libraries of Providence
Take a piece of the library home with this unframed 11x17 art print featuring the Wall of Hope, a collaborative community art installation located in the Smith Hill Library. And when you contribute at this level, you'll also receive our Wall of Hope bookmark and enamel pin as well!
Artist’s Statement: The Wall of Hope
“The Wall of Hope” is a vibrant collaboration that celebrates creativity, connection, and shared expression.
While Cathren Housley’s vision inspired the project, the artwork itself belongs to the children and families of our Providence community. “I didn’t paint a single picture up there!” Cathren says proudly. Instead, she invited young participants to pour their emotions into the art.
Through workshops filled with laughter and creativity, children led the way, with parents and family members joining in to create moments of togetherness rendered directly onto the wall. The result is far more than art — it’s a collective reflection of optimism and possibility, a testament to what happens when communities come together to create.
As Cathren beautifully puts it, “There was joy and hope, and it was translated.”
This reward will be manufactured after the campaign has closed. We will contact you with more information on when it will be fulfilled after the fundraiser ends on January 6.
Also, the design shown above is an example and may not be final.
You'll receive a bookmark featuring a section of the Wall of Hope, a collaborative community art installation located in the Smith Hill Library.

If you select this reward, you will have the opportunity to place a personalized bookplate in the library book of your choosing at one of the Community Libraries of Providence.
You'll come in on a scheduled day and, with help from our library volunteers, fill out your bookplate and place it in a library book you select. (You can also elect to allow our staff to choose and place the bookplate for you, and send an image when they're done!)
After the campaign is complete, we'll share more details on how to claim your bookplate.
Wear your library support on your favorite jacket or bag with this enamel pin featuring a section of the Wall of Hope, a collaborative community art installation located in the Smith Hill Library. Donors who contribute at this level will also receive our Wall of Hope bookmark as well.
