From Pages to Possibilities: Make a Difference Today!
This December, we’re hosting a month-long book drive with a goal of raising $25k! We're going back to our roots with a focus on what libraries do best: putting books into the hands of readers. Won't you join us?
Books are more than just pages, they are possibilities. They spark curiosity, nourish connection, and open a doorway to a lifelong love of reading. For our youngest patrons, books lay the foundations for exploration, imagination, and learning. For all of us, they link us to history, cultures, and stories from around the block and around the world.Your gift today and throughout the month of December helps us provide books to readers from across our diverse Providence neighborhoods. Every dollar we raise helps to expand our physical, digital, and audiobook collections, as well as provide funding for storytimes, early literacy programs, writing workshops, and book clubs.
|
By donating, you’re helping us ensure access to the stories and ideas that knit our communities together and inspire new generations to take that first step into the joys of literacy.
This December, please partner with us in putting the power of books into more hands. With your help, we can ensure everyone in our community has access to these precious resources!
What Happens When I Give?
When you donate to our book drive, your dollars go immediately to work purchasing new books and materials, funding vital community programming, and ensuring access to a world of possibilities!
Your generous gift will go towards the purchase of new
physical, audio, and digital books, as well as other popular
media, ensuring access to stories in several formats. Your
donations will also help to expand our Spanish-language and
Black authors collections. We'll keep you updated with frequent progress reports throughout the month, sharing how your gift is making an impact, how close we are to our goal, and fun opportunities to engage along the way. From all of us at CLPVD, thank you for making this possible! |
Can We Count on You?
Donate throughout December to be a part of this story. Let’s write the next chapter—together.

¿Te unes a nosotros?

Perks
You'll receive a bookmark featuring a section of the Wall of Hope, a collaborative community art installation located in the Smith Hill Library.
Artist’s Statement: The Wall of Hope
“The Wall of Hope” is a vibrant collaboration that celebrates creativity, connection, and shared expression.
While Cathren Housley’s vision inspired the project, the artwork itself belongs to the children and families of our Providence community. “I didn’t paint a single picture up there!” Cathren says proudly. Instead, she invited young participants to pour their emotions into the art.
Through workshops filled with laughter and creativity, children led the way, with parents and family members joining in to create moments of togetherness rendered directly onto the wall. The result is far more than art — it’s a collective reflection of optimism and possibility, a testament to what happens when communities come together to create.
As Cathren beautifully puts it, “There was joy and hope, and it was translated.”
This reward will be manufactured after the campaign has closed. We will contact you with more information on when it will be fulfilled after the fundraiser ends on January 6.
Also, the design shown above is an example and may not be final.
If you select this reward, you will have the opportunity to place a personalized bookplate in the library book of your choosing at one of the Community Libraries of Providence.
You'll come in on a scheduled day and, with help from our library volunteers, fill out your bookplate and place it in a library book you select. (You can also elect to allow our staff to choose and place the bookplate for you, and send an image when they're done!)
After the campaign is complete, we'll share more details on how to claim your bookplate.
Wear your library support on your favorite jacket or bag with this enamel pin featuring a section of the Wall of Hope, a collaborative community art installation located in the Smith Hill Library. Donors who contribute at this level will also receive our Wall of Hope bookmark as well.
