Who are we?
The Silicon Valley Roller Girls (SVRG) is a 501(c)4 organization incorporated in the State of California in 2007. SVRG is committed to quality athletic entertainment and community service while encouraging empowerment, sportsmanship and individuality to young women through the sport of roller derby. The league is a member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). Currently in our seventh year of competitive play, SVRG is ranked 92nd in the world.
What have we done?
Over the years, the league has evolved from a handful of women looking to play roller derby into a full-fledged business with multiple programs. Our adult league fields full three teams that compete against teams from other leagues. Our “A” team, the Dot.Kamikazes, travels around the country throughout the year in order to compete for rankings. Once the league grew a steady fan-base, there was sufficient interest to begin a junior derby program for young women ages 7 to 17. In 2013, we revamped our recruitment program and formally organized a recreational program, the Circuit Jerks. As of March 2014, SVRG is home to 52 competitive adult members, 35 juniors (ages 7-17), 35 recreational skaters, 17 officials, and 6 coaches.
Why do we need your help?
The Silicon Valley Roller Girls have called San Jose Skate home since our founding in 2007. After a wonderful partnership that included thousands of practice hours, dozens of home doubleheaders and the blossoming of our program from a handful of skaters to more than 100 dedicated men, women, and children, our host San Jose Skate has been sold to a development company and will close its doors permanently on June 1, 2014.
A new home...
SVRG needs to find a new place where we can practice freely and rise to our fullest potential. To meet our league's growing demand for track time, we need a dedicated practice space with at least 10,000 square feet. Unfortunately, practice spaces don't come cheap in Silicon Valley! We're subject to the same sky-high real estate prices as every other resident and business in the greater Bay Area. That's where you come in....

We need help finding a space, fixing it up to our needs, purchasing a suitable track, and preparing it for use by our five teams. Your donation will serve to solidify our place in San Jose and continue our growth path as a league.
