About my mom:
Adriana Lugo is a farm owner and single mother of two from Caracas, VE.
As her only child left after the protests of 2014, I am her sole caretaker so today I would like to ask for all your support so that my mom can go into surgery as soon as possible.
At 55 years old, it is of the utmost importance that she can regain her mobility and avoid difficulties in the future. However, due to the current economic situation, governmental crisis and the crippling costs of medical procedures due to the lack of supplies in our country, I haven't been able to help her get back on her feet.
My income is not enough to cover the total amount, and there are no public health programs for these cases in Venezuela.
About the accident:
Our family has a farm up in the mountains where we grow coffee to sell to Venezuelan companies.
We take care of sowing and reaping the product with our own hands, including my mother (Adriana) whom in February 2022 suffered a fall on the steep part of the land.
At first she did not give importance to the discomfort until she was unable to walk because of the pain. Since then we have been in and out of the hospital until her final alternative was to send her to surgery.
What we need to cover:
The surgery that will be performed is to replace the broken bones by placing a prosthetic piece. After that, physiotherapy and post-operative care are required, including a wheelchair, a bedpan with wheels, painkillers, antibiotics, a gastric protector, a special girdle and other products that are part of the recovery process and that are not provided by the hospital.
