For 25 years, AndigenA foundation, a non-for-profit non-governmental organization, has stood as a valuable support for the biodiversity conservation of the Tropical Andes. Our main actions have been directed toward the protection of endangered species, including Andean bear, torrent duck, harlequin toads and tapirs. But today, one of our region’s most iconic and gentle giants—the tapirs—needs your help more than ever.

Since 1999, we have fought to protect these "gardeners of the forest." In 2010, we turned our passion into action by creating "La Casa del Tapir" (The Tapir’s House). What started as a dream between a geographer and a biologist (Denis Alexander Torres from Venezuela and Sergio Sandoval from Colombia) has blossomed into a regional movement that has already inspired thousands of students and teachers across Latin America.
