Women Woke Within is a social justice coalition of women who have either been incarcerated or have had loved ones imprisoned. Our memberships also include individuals who empathize with those who receive harsh prison sentences. Our team members consist of nonprofits, private businesses, legal assistants, influences, etc.; we are prepared to wake everybody!
We produce television segments to discuss an incarcerated person's story and bring to public attention those who are elected to office who impose unfair and harsh prison sentences. We discovered that most voters do not concern themselves with the election of a judge or district attorney, and most are unaware of the attorneys who take your money and do nothing but insist you take a plea. We intend to pull back the cover on what is defined as "justice for all." It is time that we stepped into our power to do something about mass incarceration. We will work with other organizations in this movement to reach our goal.
The funds provided here will pay for legal services, including attorney fees, legal research, television marketing campaigns, and broadcast and investigative research.
We are not advocating that incarceration should be something of the past; however, we defend our belief that "Mass Incarceration Has A Face ... and a Name, and it has been proven that keeping a human being imprisoned for decades is mentally harmful. If a person needs to be placed somewhere to protect society, it should not be in prison. Therefore, ...
... We ask the parole boards, judges, district attorneys, and the
entire judicial system:
"When is an incarcerated person rehabilitated, and
who is qualified to say so?"

Wayne Jones is the son of Betty Jenkins. He has been in prison for 23 years. His mother has been seeking his transcripts for many years and most recently received a letter from the courts indicating that there are no transcripts. Help us free Wayne Jones.
