Here’s a profile description that introduces you and your cause, weaving in the story and challenge you’ve been sharing. It’s designed to feel personal and inspiring while giving visitors a clear reason to support you:

About Raymond

Hi, I’m Raymond Martin, a  Havana resident and passionate entrepreneur living in Vedado. I believe food is more than fuel – it’s how we bring our community together and care for each other when times get tough. 🌱

Right now, my city is facing its toughest challenge in decades. An oil blockade has made gasoline unimaginably expensive and transportation has ground to a halt. Trucks can’t deliver supplies, crops spoil in the fields and our neighbours – mothers, grandfathers and kids – struggle to find their next meal.

I’m not a big charity or a large organization. I’m one man with a plan and a big heart. I’ve turned my little kitchen into a solar‑powered lifeline. With solar panels and electric bikes we’re bypassing the blockade to collect food, cook meals and keep them fresh without fuel. Each day we serve hot meals to our neighbours, and with your help we can do so much more.

That’s why I created the #BitterBeanChallenge. The idea is simple: skip one fancy coffee – just one – and donate that money to our kitchen. It’s a small sacrifice, but here in Vedado that same amount feeds three people. Your “coffee” becomes survival for a family.

If you care about community, food justice and renewable energy solutions, I’d love for you to join this movement. Together, we can prove that when a community stands together, no blockade can stop our compassion. ✨

Causes close to my heart:

  • Community resilience: Building a network of neighbours who look out for one another, especially in times of crisis.

  • Food security: Ensuring that everyone – regardless of their income or political situation – has access to healthy, hot meals.

  • Renewable energy: Using solar power and electric bikes to create sustainable solutions that are independent of fuel prices and embargoes.

Why your support matters:
Every cup of coffee you skip fuels three hot meals in my neighbourhood. Your donation helps us purchase more solar panels, buy food in bulk and expand our kitchen’s capacity. You’re not just donating; you’re joining a community movement that shows the world we won’t let an oil blockade define our lives.
