MOVEability is a Social Enterprise Organisation founded on the belief that the world would be a better place if those with limited mobility, either through age, a disability, a chronic health condition or living a sedentary lifestyle and those who just don’t find it comfortable exercise in regular classes had the same opportunities as anyone else to improve their physical & mental health.

We want to make exercise accessible for all, allowing anyone who wants it to achieve the quality of life they deserve through our classes and/or the social benefits of exercising in a group.

With that in mind, we deliver online and on-site seated chair exercise and movement classes aimed at people of ANY age, from late teens to seniors.

Our classes suit MANY, including those with limited mobility, people who live a sedentary lifestyle and want to ease back into exercise but don’t enjoy the gym or conventional fitness classes and anyone who wants to be part of a more inclusive and accessible class.

We do this by ensuring each and every class is welcoming with an emphasis on fun. There is no pressure to exercise. People do as much or as little as they want. What’s important is that they go away feeling better than when they arrived, be that through doing the exercise or simply seeing a friendly face. 

This makes sense when you consider that combatting loneliness and isolation sit high on our social impact criteria, and it’s working. Many say they join for the social aspect as much as the exercise, with one describing our classes as ‘a social gathering with a purpose’. 

We also endeavour to keep our classes affordable, funding our activities through grants and from ticket sales which we keep affordably priced to ensure those who need them can access them. The grants help us set up and begin running classes, but to keep classes going long term and our prices accessible, we need another source of funding. It’s what has driven our decision to crowd fund.
