Hout Bay is a fascinating community, a true microcosm of South Africa in a valley just 20 minutes from the Cape Town City Centre, colloquially called "The Republic of Hout Bay". Multiracial, with a significant immigrant population, and with huge inequalities - but also with a unique and pervading community spirit.

HBUFC is a football club that operates numerous progammes to upiift, inspire and equip our community:

• Football programmes from Under 6 to adult, from a social level to our Elite Teams playing in the national 3rd division (both men's and ladies).
• Community programmes including Adults with Disabilities, Rainbow Football, Education Programmes and Community Cleanups.
• A "halfway house" for young players from difficult backgrounds who need intense mentoring in a residential environment.
• Work placement into local businesses for adults associated with the club.
• Upskilling players into coaches.
• Child safety and GBV Awareness programmes.
