On August 13, 2018, we became more than just a Facebook group, we became an International Non-profit Opioid Awareness Organization. The purpose of this group and organization is to share the faces and stories of opioid addiction. Opioid overdoses have quadrupled since 2000 and it is time to put a face to those that have been affected by opioid addiction. Through this group and organization we will educate people on how prevalent opioid addiction is and through our stories people will realize that drug addiction does not discriminate. Opioids such as heroin are in every state, city, and suburb. The time for being complacent is gone! This Group and Organization is open to the public as we want to bring the stigma of opioid use out of the darkness into the light!
