The mission of this organization is to help ensure that county government is properly serving all Delta County residents through strict adherence to State statutes concerning open records and meetings, and upholding the highest standards of ethics in government.

The objective of this organization is to promote a transparent, responsive and engaged county government.

Delta County Citizen Report is an apolitical, 501(c)(3) nonprofit media organization providing information about Delta County, Colorado

government activities. Founded by Board of Director President and senior blogger, JoAnn Kalenak, in November 2106, the organization became a nonprofit organization in April 2020. Blog reports include but are not limited to: Reports on County Commissioner public meetings, county projects, county development plans, county policies, and county budget and finance.

In April 2018, the organization was able to successfully spearhead and negotiate a first ever transparency policy for Delta County Commissioner open meetings. Commissioners adopted the new policy as an official county resolution.
