Therapeutic Sciences is the interdisciplinary study and practice of evidence-informed approaches that support healing, growth, resilience, meaning-making, and human flourishing. Drawing from clinical research, neuroscience, psychology, contemplative traditions, traditional knowledge, and relational care, the field explores how individuals and communities heal and thrive.

OUR MISSION: The Academy of Therapeutic Sciences is grounded in the understanding that healing can be informed by many ways of knowing. We cultivate dialogue between contemporary science and traditional, ancestral, and spiritual wisdom, integrating rigorous therapeutic education with embodied, relational, and culturally responsive practice.

The Academy of Therapeutic Sciences brings contemporary science into relationship with the wisdom carried through generations, cultures, traditions, and lived experience. We learn across disciplines and ways of knowing, recognizing that no single system holds all that is needed to understand healing.

Together, we cultivate practitioners who approach therapeutic work with rigor, humility, curiosity, discernment, and care—honoring evidence while remaining open to the knowledge held in relationship, experience, spirit, community, and the living world.

Our work is rooted in reciprocity: we learn from what has come before, remain accountable to the communities and traditions from which knowledge emerges, and contribute thoughtfully to what comes next.

We are here not simply to expand what we know about healing, but to deepen how we practice it—with one another, for one another, and for the generations to come.

At the Academy of Therapeutic Sciences, we bring these ways of knowing into conversation. We honor contemporary science and the rigor it offers while making room for the wisdom carried through generations and traditions. We approach each with curiosity, humility, discernment, and respect.

We believe therapeutic practice asks more of us than knowledge alone. It asks us to be in relationship: to ourselves, to those we serve, to our communities, to the medicines and practices we work with, and to the traditions that have carried them.

In this way, we seek to contribute to a living field of therapeutic practice—one that is rigorous enough to question what we know, humble enough to learn from what we do not, and expansive enough to imagine what healing can become.
