In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic surprised us all, the first ten years of Northeast Asia Regional Peacebuilding Institute came to a close.

Even though the pandemic has kept us from meeting in-person, it has also

given us an opportunity to record our history in a book, and
opened up the way for new online programs.

We are nearly ready to print Our Peacebuilding Story: The First Ten Years of Northeast Asia Regional Peacebuilding Institute (2011-2020). This year’s crowdfunding effort will support the printing of the book, which will be available for free to those who have had a role of any kind in NARPI.

From August 2021-March 2022, a group of five young NARPI leaders co-created Online NARPI! (ON!) – eight workshops on peacebuilding themes related to everyday life. ON! helped to build a sense of community among many people (especially young people) in Northeast Asia and beyond.

We are currently planning NARPI 2022: Special Online & Local Alternative to the Summer Peacebuilding Training . This program is open to people who have joined a NARPI Summer Peacebuilding Training or ON! Workshop in the past. For more details, see the NARPI website . This year’s crowdfunding effort will also support NARPI 2022.

We are planning that the next NARPI Summer Peacebuilding Training will be held in Ulaanbaatar in August 2023.
