The strand is made of Green Grossular Garnet (often called African Jade) and Turquoise with glass seed bead spacers and sterling silver clasp. The pendant is a handmade clay image of the Woman (or Venus) of Willendorf. (The‘Venus' of Willendorf was uncovered in Austria early last century and dates back to 2800 - 2500 BCE and is thought to represent an ancient Mother Goddess. The pendant was made by a Oregon artist who prefers her name not be attached to her work, but gives her permission and blessings for them to be used in this way.
I created this in sacred space with our camp intention: “In slow time and deep earth we dance with ancestors near and far as we learn to decolonize and reweave cultures of compassion and justice.”
In addition, because of the energies of the particular stones used, this necklace carries a vibration of ancient healing modalities, quiet strength and clarity of purpose. These qualities will be best experienced if the necklace is worn against the skin.
