He had a hard time learning and his mom knew he needed help, but she just couldn’t afford any extra tutoring. Thanks to the Aspire program, funded by United Way of Peel Region, Hudfayah received the help he needed, and his mom’s wish came true. Give a child a warm winter coat this holiday season. Jessie is only six years old. She’d probably ask Santa for a doll or a bike or some other kind of toy. What Jessie really needs is a new winter coat... but her mom doesn’t have enough money to buy one this year. That’s her holiday wish: that Jessie could have a new winter coat to keep her warm and dry on the walk to school. Will you give kids like Jessie the gift of warmth this holiday season?

Give two kids a healthy afterschool snack while they participate in a 40-week program. Tamika wishes that every boy and girl had the opportunity to experience fun and happiness through positive programs like the Boys and Girls Club, funded by United Way of Peel Region. She says: “It’s the life lessons that make this place so special. Children learn how to interact with each other… and to express their feelings in healthy ways. Most importantly, they learn how to be happy.” Tamika began the program when she was just six years old and has now returned as a mentor. She says the Boys and Girls Club helped turn her life around after a rough patch during her teens.

Give one infant a 3-month supply of formula. Stephanie just wants to feed her baby. Formula is often the sole source of nourishment for infants and babies.
