Laminated 12x18 Adoptees' Restoration Act Poster
to A Call to Action - Adoptee Rights Rally Campaign
by Adoption ALARM Network a 501(C)4 Non-profit organization
Shows the "Adoption Family Tree" The figures on the tree show how a large percentage of our population are affected (or touched) by adoption in one way or another. Also how a large percentage of our population, known as “the adopted,” are unable to have access to copies of their original birth certificates or other legal documents concerning the very essence of their own lives. Adoptees are being denied their basic Civil and Constitutional rights that the rest of us enjoy – our heritage, culture, medical history, genealogy and the ability to find the answer to the age old question “Who am I?” Birth/Natural/First Parents who surrendered their children in good faith have had to suffer years of anguish wondering what happened to their child. They were never told nor did they ever believe they were signing away their child forever. This beautiful poster is great to frame for posterity -- when we are finally free and our children can see what we fought for!"

In 1970 when I lost my daughter to a forced adoption, I was also torn from her father(my true love) by religious and ethnic prejudice. Without support from my narcissistic mother, I was sent to a Home for unwed mothers. Like many of us from the giant baby scoop era, I too fell victim to the adoption agencies who dished out shame & guilt, while feasting on my innocence. "The Scarlet Thread" is my journey through the events leading up to my Loss & the Collateral Damage which followed. Interwoven is a love story bringing the birth father & I back together, after a 40 year sabbatical, at the late age of 60. As we pursue our search for the Love Child we lost, we rediscover the love we once had. It is a raw tell all book that takes the reader on a roller coaster of emotions. As one of my readers said. "Yvonne’s style doesn’t put you in the front row, she brings you right up on stage to live her story with her.I winced.I cried. I laughed. I got mad. I hugged the book wishing I could hug her"

Stork mar•ket. (stôrk märkt) n. 1. exposé of the corruption in the adoption industry; the fine line between black and gray market adoption; scams, coercion and exploitation. 2. an in-depth report on the domestic and international markets where children are the commodity and prices are based on quality (i.e. color, age, health). 3. an examination of myths that put the needs of adults, and those who profit from their desperation, before the needs of children who need homes. 4. an extensively researched and documented book that asks if adoption can be fixed—the money aspect removed—or abolished in favor of permanent guardianship, or informal adoption sans the issuance of falsified birth certificates. 5. goes further than Riben’s groundbreaking award-winning “shedding light on…The Dark Side of Adoption” (1988). 6. reveals, for the first time in print, Riben’s role in the notorious Joel Steinberg murder case.

Born into the social experiment of closed adoption in the early 1960s, Noelle’s early life in rural Washington state seemed idyllic. But all that was ripped away, first by the violent loss of her innocence, followed by the slow death of her mother. Essentially left to raise herself, she embarks on a lifelong journey of self-discovery, guided at unexpected times by "the voice" only she can hear. Haunted by recurring loss, Noelle is determined to find her birth mother, to uncover the secrets of the feelings and visions she cannot contain or control. In surviving the breakdown of her husband and marriage, she realizes she has a psychic connection with the family she never knew, and in a series of incredible events reunites not only with them, but also eventually with her soulmate. A true account of one woman's life, existing as not one, but two people: one born and one adopted, and enduring the reality of not completely belonging in either world.
