Maplelatte Animal Shelter Society was created out of one simple belief: every animal deserves safety, care, and a second chance.

Before our society was officially registered, we were already helping animals in need in our community. We saw too many dogs and cats abandoned, left without shelter, medical care, or someone to protect them. Many came from rural areas where resources for animal welfare are limited.

In 2025, after a year of preparation and community support, Maplelatte Animal Shelter Society officially became a registered nonprofit animal rescue serving animals in Beaver County and surrounding areas.

Our mission is simple but powerful: rescue, protect, and rehome animals who have nowhere else to go.

Every animal that comes through our doors receives care, compassion, and a chance to start over. We provide essential veterinary care such as vaccinations, deworming, and microchipping, and we work hard to find responsible, loving homes through our adoption program.

Many of the animals we rescue arrive scared, injured, or neglected. Some are mothers caring for puppies or kittens. Others have never experienced kindness before. Watching these animals learn to trust again—and seeing them leave for their forever homes—is why we do this work.

But rescue comes with real costs. Veterinary care, food, shelter supplies, and transportation quickly add up, and as a small nonprofit we rely heavily on community support.
