Apifera Farm cares for 50-60 animals at any given time-horses, ponies, donkeys, chickens, llamas, goats, pigs, dogs, cats and fowl. We aim to adopt in animals that have lost their homes due to a neglect situation, or their owners have fallen on hard times or died.
We also share our animals with elder/special needs people. In 2024 a Healing Barn was built to allow us to have intimate year round visits between animals and people needing mental or physical healing. We are working on various programs for the barn.
Donations are mainly used for hay/fee, farrier, vets, emergency care, and infrastructure needs such as fencing. Katherine and Martyn Dunn own and operate the sanctuary and have been doing this type of work for 20+ years. They do not take salaries nor are there employees so donations are going directly to animal care.
We work hard to share stories and videos so donators can see the animals and learn about them. Our hard work has allowed us to gain a loyal following-and this means we run a very healthy sanctuary. We own our land and property and are very stable financially-but money is always needed to ensure we always have access to emergency care and the animals never are in danger of not getting the daily care they need and deserve.
