The Candle Kittens are a group of over 20 kittens that were pulled from a hoarding situation in a trailer park. They are all beautiful most black or silver blue Siamese framed kittens who had been living for at least 3 weeks without food and water and care in a flea infested home after the owner died. ARC was already full of sanctuary cats and had no room for a single addition, but how could we walk away from 5-8 month old babies we knew were being eaten alive by fleas and dying from starvation? However, they are only able to be housed in crates in a barn due to lack of space.
We do believe that all we were able to find are strong enough to survive but will need medical care to remove the fleas, deworm, vaccinate, and FIV/FeLV test (thankfully all have been kept inside), spay.neuter. They'll also need time to recover and add weight.
All the kittens are strikingly beautiful! Long, sleek, and very smart already. We hope the terror and pain they felt from the slow route towards death will soon be over as they realize food and water are constants. Litterboxes are clean, beds are dry, the itching will soon stop. We look forward to when their hearts will be as full as their bellies when people start to foster and adopt each of these babies.
