PLAY 4 CALAIS is fundraising to bring 4 vehicles to the camps in Calais. This is how much we need and for what. (And we know what's needed over there because we are in direct, constant contact with the people who need it):
£11,500 to pay for:
3 x 9-seater minibuses: 2 for the Women and
Children's Centre and one for the Refugee Youth Centre
£1,500 for a builders' van for making running repairs and improvements around the 'Jungle'
£2,000 for insurance, tax, petrol and European car kits
These vehicles will provide a vital means of transport in and around the refugee camp. We will take children to the local beaches and for bowling trips on days out; we will deliver aid around the camp and transport goods to and from the warehouses; and, as ambulances do not travel into the camp, we will often be forced to transport refugees to and from the local hospital.
