Black Monday AppealMandy recovering from surgery to repair her damaged leg

We have named Monday Black because it was a tough day in our rescue and a tough day for some very needy animals. The day started with an early morning call about Mandy a little Bichon puppy that had been in a RTA. She had a fractured pelvis and a very nasty fracture of her femur. She had been signed over to the vets and she needed a rescue to step up and take her on and of course we said yes. Less than an hour later we were contacted about Petra an 11week old puppy who had received an injury in the home and had a fractured leg and whose owners had signed her over to the vets. Could we take her and of course we said yes. A couple of hours later came the call about Pumkin. A severely swollen leg, possible break, possible amputation ?????? ands another signed over to a vet. Could we help and of course we said yes. Early afternoon and we had a call from our vets regarding a little Jack Russell with an obstruction who was in a very serious way. Her owner was distraught and facing having her baby put to sleep because through no fault of her own she was unable to pay anything up to £1,000 for the operation that was needed to save her little dogs life. There was possible serious damage to her intestines and she would die without help so of course we said yes. How could we let this 4 year old dog be put to sleep. In the space of a few hours we had committed ourselves to a possible £4,000 worth of life saving surgery but to say 'no' to any of them would have been a death sentence. Mandy has so far had her leg repaired and pinned today. She will need further surgery to fix her pelvis. Petra has had her leg pinned and plated to enable the bone to mend. Pumkin is undergoing treatment to save her leg and the little JRT had surgery and had two peach stones removed from her abdomen. There should be no long term complications. We said 'yes' and we would be overjoyed if some of our supporters and followers would say 'yes' to making a small donation towards saving these animals lives. Any amount no matter how small will help and will enable us to continue to say 'yes' when an animal is at risk from life threatening injury or illness.
