Sweet Mayflower was found on the side of the road by a good Samaritan. She didn't even have enough energy to get up and move herself. They brought her to the farm where we rushed her straight to the vet. She had a high white blood cell count, she was highly anemic, filled with parasites, and is heartworm positive!
On top of ALL of that, after an x-ray, our vet found that she had metal in her stomach and needed to have emergency surgery. They found metal, plastic, a penny, and a rock in her stomach. She was more than likely eating trash and anything else she could find just to try to survive!
We are so happy that that good Samaritan found her. Mayflower is finally home at the farm and is doing great! She has energy, she's eating really well, and already gaining back a little weight.
She has a LONG road ahead of her, but she has the fight and the spirit to thrive!
