In Kyiv, Ukraine, missile strikes, air raid sirens, and the constant threat of war have become part of everyday life.
The Bouvier des Flandres is no stranger to war. These courageous dogs served faithfully in both World Wars. But even this brave and resilient breed is no match for today's deadly missiles and drones.
In the heart of war-torn Kyiv, one devoted Bouvier breeder refuses to give up on the dogs she loves. Despite the danger surrounding her, she continues to care for them, protect them, and preserve the breed she has dedicated her life to.
Her name is Galyna Kalinichenko, and her loyalty to her beloved Bouviers has not wavered, even as the war surrounds her family home in Ukraine's capital city, Kyiv.
At HOUSE OF BOUVS, we have made a commitment to help bring two of Galyna's Bouvier des Flandres puppies—a male and a female—from the frontlines in the Ukraine, to safety in the United States.
One puppy will join our breeding program in Pennsylvania, helping preserve valuable European Bouvier bloodlines for future generations. The other will join a private owner/handler in Alaska who shares our appreciation for this remarkable breed.
These puppies are not abandoned, neglected, or unwanted. They come from a devoted breeder who loves them deeply. This is not a traditional animal rescue. It is a privately organized international evacuation and import made extraordinarily complicated and expensive by the ongoing Ukraine War and U.S. import regulations.
⚠️WHY THIS EVACUATION IS
SO DIFFICULT: TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE ⚠️
Bouviers on Planes 🛫, Trains🚂 and Automobiles🚙 - departing January 2027
Current U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regulations require dogs entering the United States to be at least six months old.
For these puppies, that means remaining in Kyiv considerably longer than we would otherwise choose, extending their exposure to the dangers of war, including ongoing missile and drone attacks.
It also means transporting older, larger, and heavier dogs, significantly increasing the expense and complexity of their journey.
Getting them safely to America requires an extensive network of specialized services, including:
• Specialized evacuation and export transportation to move the puppies out of Ukraine and into a country where international air transportation can be arranged.
• International air cargo transportation for two large-breed puppies traveling in appropriately sized crates.
• Import brokerage, customs clearance, and regulatory compliance upon arrival in the United States.
• Ground transportation to the New York area to personally receive the puppies and bring them to our safe destination in Pennsylvania and another traveling on to Alaska.
• Additional veterinary examinations and care after their arrival to ensure both puppies are healthy and adjusting well.
• Administrative expenses, transportation fees, and unexpected costs associated with coordinating an international import from a country at war.
And for those of you with strong views regarding ear cropping and tail docking, please note:
Both puppies will retain their natural ears and tails. No cosmetic surgeries are planned or included in this effort.
❤️ WHY WE'RE ASKING FOR HELP❓️
HOUSE OF BOUVS (HOB) is organizing and financing the importation of both puppies, with the second puppy's private owner reimbursing HOB their share of the expenses.
We recognize that these are privately owned dogs and that one will eventually contribute to our breeding program. We want to be completely transparent about that.
We are not asking presenting this as a charitable rescue, but rather an assistance to ensure a safe a war evacuation with multifaceted expenses. If we fail to cover the gap, for any planned or unforeseeable expenses, these pups and the heritage they represent, would remain in jeopardy. It is an enormous and serious responsibility to bridge these Bouvier pups from war to safety across the globe.
We are inviting people who care about dogs, the preservation of Bouviers, and the people of Ukraine to help offset the unusually high transportation, regulatory, and logistical expenses associated with bringing these two puppies safely to America.
The financial burden of this journey is substantially greater than that of a typical international puppy purchase.
Our goal is to ease the burden of those extreme expenses while honoring the dedication of a Ukrainian breeder who continues caring for her Bouviers under circumstances most of us can scarcely imagine.

Actual waiting times may be shorter or longer depending upon:

HOUSE OF BOUVS reserves the right to verify all contributions against available campaign transaction records before applying a discount.
2. Lost or Missing Receipts
Contributors are responsible for retaining their donation receipts.
If a receipt is lost, contributors may request a replacement from the payment processor or fundraising platform.
HOUSE OF BOUVS may also attempt to verify a contribution through available transaction records.
However, if eligibility cannot be reasonably verified, HOUSE OF BOUVS may decline the reward.
A lost receipt does not automatically cancel an otherwise verifiable reward.

Rewards apply only to qualifying puppy purchases completed during calendar years 2027 and 2028 , subject to puppy availability and the terms of the program. Rewards expire December 31, 2028, unless HOUSE OF BOUVS provides a written extension.
4. Reservation and Placement Requirements
Participation does not guarantee acceptance into our breeding reservation program.
All prospective puppy homes remain subject to HOUSE OF BOUVS placement standards, reservation requirements, and applicable purchase agreements.
Reward holders do not receive automatic priority over existing reservations.
5. Excluded Expenses
Discounts apply only to the eligible puppy's purchase price.
They do not apply to transportation, delivery, professional training, ear cropping, veterinary services beyond those included in the standard puppy purchase, or other optional services.
6. One-Time Reward
Each verified reward ticket may be redeemed only once toward one eligible puppy purchase.
Unless otherwise expressly authorized in writing, rewards cannot be combined with other promotional discounts.
7. Nontransferability
Rewards are issued to the contributor identified on the original donation receipt.
Rewards may not be sold, exchanged for cash, or transferred to another person without prior written authorization from HOUSE OF BOUVS.
8. No Cash Redemption

HOUSE OF BOUVS reserves the right to verify all contributions against available campaign transaction records before applying a discount.
2. Lost or Missing Receipts
Contributors are responsible for retaining their donation receipts.
If a receipt is lost, contributors may request a replacement from the payment processor or fundraising platform.
HOUSE OF BOUVS may also attempt to verify a contribution through available transaction records.
However, if eligibility cannot be reasonably verified, HOUSE OF BOUVS may decline the reward.
A lost receipt does not automatically cancel an otherwise verifiable reward.
