Named after the characters in the TV show "2 Broke Girls" meet Max and Caroline these two beauties are indeed broke and need DARE's helps to mend. Read their story below! We have combined these two girls for the sake of this FundRazr so that we did not have competing campaigns going....we have committed to helping them and will use all money collected from this FundRazr campaign to pay for vetting as needed for our DARE dogs. Meet Caroline:
She is a chocolate short hair smooth coat estimated at 2-3 years young who was trapped in a sewage drain. She appears to have a broken leg and was picked up by Animal Services who was going to put her down because she did bite at someone trying to pull her out of the drain, HOWEVER because DARE works closely with this shelter they are willing to let us pull her and evaluate her. We believe her bite was simply a fear bite - it did not even require stitches - and we are hopeful that once she has gotten the medical care she needs, is out of pain and is safe her true personality will come out. We have been told that she is walking fine on 3 legs so we need to get her pulled and to a surgeon RIGHT AWAY - we contacted Dr. Hay at Veterinary Surgical Specialists (Who did Busters surgery and he said he will take her right away for evaluation and surgery if needed) which could cost us between $3,000 - $4,000 dollars
Meet Maxine: This little girl was surrendered to a vet office in Northern Florida because her owner came in and said she was "broken". Well yes she is indeed broken... She has been down for just a couple of days, she weighs about 16 lbs but should be about 12, however we will tackle weightloss after urgent medical care....Maxine is showing a little deep pain and is needing to be manuall expressed of her bodily functions. She is currently being treated with pain meds, prednisone and crate rest but they needed a rescue to take her in and DARE stepped up and said we would! The vet's office believes she is probably about 3 years old. Our plan is to get her to North Florida Neurology ASAP for exam and surgery (if needed) which could cost us $1500 - $2000
