United Way of Peel Region hasn't added a story.
Jessie wishes she could ask Santa for a toy. But she needs a warm
winter coat. Cristina desperately wishes her family had enough to eat
each and every month. Hudhayfah’s mom wishes her son could have the
same learning opportunities as the other children in his school.
Tamika’s mom just wants to know she’s safe and having fun after
school.
These are pretty basic wishes; wishes that many of us take for
granted. And yet, these are real wishes from our neighbours—people
living right here in your community who simply need a little extra
help, especially during the holidays.
Thankfully, you can help make these wishes come true—and create
positive change for people living in our community—with a gift to
United Way of Peel Region.
Give the Gift of Possibility!
$25 – Gift of a Bright Future – give children and youth access to a daily homework club, complete with computers, peer support and mentors.
Hudhayfah was having a hard time in school. His mom knew he
needed help, but she just couldn’t afford any extra tutoring. Thanks
to the Aspire program, funded by the United Way of Peel Region,
Hudfayah received the help he needed, and his mom’s wish came true.
Today his grades are soaring and the sky is the limit to achieve his
dreams. Will you give youth like Hudhayfah the gift of a bright
future?
$50 – Gift of Warmth – give a child a warm winter
coat this holiday season.
Six-year-old Jessie wishes she could ask Santa for a doll or a
bike or some other kind of toy, but she really needs a new winter
coat. Jessie’s mom doesn’t have enough money to buy one this year but
she knows Jessie’s old coat is way too small. Will you give kids like
Jessie the gift of warmth this holiday season?
$100 – Gift of Joy – give two youths a healthy
afterschool snack while they participate in a 40-week program.
Tamika says the Boys and Girls Club, funded by the United Way of
Peel Region, turned her life around. “It’s the life lessons that make
this place so special. Children learn how to interact with each other…
and to express their feelings in healthy ways. Most importantly, they
learn how to be happy.” Will you give youth like Tamika the gift of joy?
$150 – Gift of Nourishment – give one infant a
3-month supply of formula.
Stephanie just wants to feed her baby. Formula is often the sole
source of nourishment for infants and babies. Yet some new moms don’t
have enough money to buy the food their babies desperately need. Will
you give moms and their babies the gift of nourishment?
$250 – Gift of Comfort – give a family one month of
heat in the winter.
Ravi wishes his house was warmer. It’s something so many of us
take for granted… Rushing inside to get warm after time spent playing
outside in the snow… snuggling up to a cozy fire with a cup of hot
cocoa. Yet some families struggle to find the extra money needed to
heat their home during the cold winter months. Will you give a family
the gift of comfort this winter?

Give a child or youth access to a daily homework club, complete with computers, peer support and mentors. Learning isn’t easy for everyone. And it can be especially tough for kids when things aren’t great at home, or there’s not enough money to make ends meet. That was the case with Hudhayfah. He had a hard time learning and his mom knew he needed help, but she just couldn’t afford any extra tutoring. Thanks to the Aspire program, funded by United Way of Peel Region, Hudfayah received the help he needed, and his mom’s wish came true. Give a child a warm winter coat this holiday season. Jessie is only six years old. She’d probably ask Santa for a doll or a bike or some other kind of toy. What Jessie really needs is a new winter coat... but her mom doesn’t have enough money to buy one this year. That’s her holiday wish: that Jessie could have a new winter coat to keep her warm and dry on the walk to school. Will you give kids like Jessie the gift of warmth this holiday season?

Give two kids a healthy afterschool snack while they participate in a 40-week program. Tamika wishes that every boy and girl had the opportunity to experience fun and happiness through positive programs like the Boys and Girls Club, funded by United Way of Peel Region. She says: “It’s the life lessons that make this place so special. Children learn how to interact with each other… and to express their feelings in healthy ways. Most importantly, they learn how to be happy.” Tamika began the program when she was just six years old and has now returned as a mentor. She says the Boys and Girls Club helped turn her life around after a rough patch during her teens.
