We are an all volunteer organization that has provided low or no-cost care to thousands of needy animals via the mobile surgery unit for the past 3 years. This past weekend, while the medical team was traveling to an underserved region in Western PA, the axel of the mobile suddenly and unexpectedly snapped. Thankfully, no one was hurt. The team took out all of the equipment, packed it in the back of the pickup, and set up a makeshift clinic in the firehall, so the 43 cats and 13 dogs could still receive care.
The mobile unit is critical to bringing care to animals throughout the region who otherwise would not be treated. Koala, (the kitty pictured above) who was found on the streets, was brought in to a clinic to be spayed. When we realized she had no eyes and had suffered from frostbite on her ears, we took her back with us, treated her, and found her a permanent home where she now lives in the safety and comfort she deserves.
Please help us continue to bring care to these less fortunate animals. We need to purchase a new box trailer that we can convert to a mobile surgery unit.
