We just returned from 3 days in a refugee camp in Athens, Greece, where we met families and children adn saw the needs firsthand. Now, we're rallying our community to come together in support of these basic needs: we can make it happen.

We volunteered with Emfasis
Foundation, the brainchild of a team of
Greek
citizens who work hand in hand with social experts and
volunteers, providing a humanitarian approach to a very challenging situation.
We worked in a refugee shelter, witnessing people passing each other on the streets and not saying a word, rows of one room trailers, each housing families of 5-7, encased in electric fencing. We cleaned and restocked the supply room where donations can be stored and managed. But our intangible impact was showing up in this community as humans, listening to the stories with respect, playing games with the kids and showing an abandoned population that they are seen and loved.
