HOLLY’S HOPE is the namesake for Holly Berry, a big red Doberman who had a tough time through much of her life, landing on a rescue site at the age of eight, when her person passed away. Although Holly had medical and emotional issues when she came into my life, she was rehabilitated, and spent her next three years running, and playing, with people and animals big and small - finding joy in her life. We became constant companions, touring Canada (for work and play). She taught me more about myself, and the world than I had learned in 25 years of international touring. The times we spent together, were adventurous, and life changing. I always say, “We saved each other”. HOLLY'S HOPE is her legacy, Her gift to those who are still with us.

Sharon DiGenova (Founder) Is a Lighting Designer and Production Stage Manager, whose career spans more than 25 years of live performance and extensive international touring.
Sharon also co-founded Damn Straight - a performance venue in downtown Toronto, which produced performance, workshops, and events from 1993-98.

In 2007, following a decade of touring with dance company, Holy Body Tattoo, the company folded and Sharon adopted a dog named Holly Berry. Over the next 3 years, the duo toured the country. In December 2009, Holly succumbed to cancer. Sharon found herself at Toronto Animal Services, making gifts of Holly’s things, to shelter dogs in need. She became a volunteer at the shelter and got involved with many other rescue organizations. In May 2012, in an effort to DO MORE she launched Holly’s Hope. Operated on a voluntary basis, its mandate is to produce events, which raise funds for, and awareness of, animals in need.
