Freida was found in a ditch on April 10th one mile from anywhere....a certain throw away kitty. She was emaciated and matted and weighed less than 2 lbs. She did not walk to that ditch by herself. Thank God for the man taking a walk that day. He saved her life.

She was so scared. We took her to the vet who was as perplexed as we were at the matted kitty with two wide eyes starring up at us as is to say, "Help me."

It was thought she had dwarfism but her hypothyroid test was normal. She is extremely anemic, bones thin as paper and xrays that show huge abnormalities in her food processing system. As of April 18th, it has been determined that she has some sort of storage disease. In addition, her growth plates have not closed leaving her with weaken bones. Due to her anemia she must wait for more testing.

She will go back to the vet on April 25th for more blood work and testing. For now she is on a canned food diet only and eats 1/4 can at a time.

If Freida is to remain in our care she will need medicine and consistant monitoring. She will never be cured but she can be happy and live a good life. She has come so far in one week and even purrs now when we hold her.
