In 2008 Nazareth House Apostolate School opened its doors to a hundred students. 

It was built with love, people from all over the USA from all walks of life, giving and working...dollar by dollar, brick by brick to build and provide for the children in Kabala.  

Since its opening, the NHA School has increased enrollment to 300 students.  Education changes lives, it provides the community with hope for the future.  

Each year NHA raises the money to ensure that every student begins the new school year with two new uniforms.  Uniforms are important because they bring a sense of belonging and equality.  It costs $7500 per year to clothe students in new uniforms. 

Ebola not only closed schools, it closed businesses and stalled the recovery that was slowly being made after the dreadful Blood-Diamond War.  Once again the people of Sierra Leone are rallying to rise above.  Many have lossed loved ones to ebola; grief, insecurity and instablity abound.  

Desparate people do desparate things. Our school suffered several break-ins and valuable school supplies and furnishings have been taken away.

As 2015 nears its end and a New Year begins, we are asking you to donate to NHA to assist us in providing the students at our Kabala School with the tools and proper education they need.  We need more chairs and desks to be built - this stimulates the local economy by hiring Kabala and area villagers to do the carpentry work.  

We need to begin now to make the uniforms for next school season so that they are ready and waiting on the first day of school.  This, too, allows the local seamstresses and tailors to provide for their families as well as the cloth merchants. 

The general population in the villages need assistance in farming. Many of the farm work has been left up to the children and widows. NHA will provide seeds and farm tools.  

There are several families left in such devastation by the recent ebola outbreak that NHA is providng medical assistance and food simply for them to survive.   By providing education, employment and the mechanisms to become self sufficient, Nazareth House Apostolate, together with your compassion and generosity allows the villagers, the students, the parents, the workers to take steps forward in achieving something bigger and better for the whole community.  Please consider donating to NHA today.  Thank you.
