Helping one another.  Giving a gift that reaches beyond ourselves,  reaching out and benefitting those who need it the most - Now that's Christmas, that's love. 

Nazareth House Apostolate is working to raise $3,750 to provide the remaining students at our school with uniforms. Our NHA School in Kabala, Sierra Leone has 300 students.

150 of them we've provided with uniforms, we need to clothe the remaining students in uniforms. $25 buys two uniforms for a student.

The students must wash their uniforms streams and beat them on rocks to get them clean.  Then they dry them in the hot sun.  This is some pretty heavy wear and tear on clothing so each child needs at least two uniforms to make it through the school year. 

If 150 people gave $25 each, we could clothe all the students before they return from Christmas Vacation in January.   This Holiday Season, let's show that Americans can do more with their wallets than just shop - and that we Americans can give as good as we get! 

At NHA, we focus our time, energy and resources on reaching hundreds (families and individuals, doctors and hospitals, teachers and students) in Sierra Leone. In particular we provide the opportunity for many children to reach their full potential through our Nazareth House Apostolate School in Kabala, Sierra Leone. It is one of the only Free Schools in the area (no tuition, and we are working to provide the students with uniforms - for some its the only decent clothing they have) this encourages the parents to send their children to school without taking away from their extremely limited family resources.  

Unfortunately, without proper clothing, many parents simply keep their children at home.  

We are unwilling to let a child go without education, therefore we do our best to provide uniforms so that all the children come to school dressed the same.  

We use local Sierra Leone merchants to buy the material and area seamstresses to sew the uniforms.  This stimulates the local economy and allows workers to make a living.  Its a win, win situation.  The students get uniforms and those involved in making them earn a living.  
 

NHA feeds, clothes and provides medical help to people in Sierra Leone everyday.  We provide for the school, pay the teachers salaries and help as many as we can day in and day out.  The uniforms are "an extra" expense to our ongoing aid.  Once we meet the uniform goal, any funding that excedes the goal of this campaign will go towards the general needs in Sierra Leone.
