Helping From The Heart is a program within the organization, Healing Hearts Beyond The Walls. The organization was founded in April 2005 by Trenee L. Pruitt. Ms. Pruitt has numerous years of experience as a leader in public service; as well as, the education to authenically lead the organization. Ms. Pruitt has worked with children, families and individuals who have lost homes, finances and self esteem. It became a mission to meet people at their point of need and provide additional resources that can assist with finding homes, building finances and self esteem. Helping From The Heart will provide tutoring services to homeless children, life skill training, and education programs for economic development.

Damaged Goods are hurting people who hurt other people and produce more Damaged Goods. The church has been damaged, beginning with the leadership and spreading throughout the congregation. At some point, everyone has been damaged, caused damage or at least knows someone who has been damaged. The church is represented in our communities, workplaces, and social organizations. Without realizing it, more hurt is caused when the church is misrepresented by the leaders and congregants who proclaim Christianity. Several individuals have contributed to this book by sharing their personal experiences of being hurt by the church. In addition to the stories, there are moments set aside for the reader to reflect on his/her own experiences as a Damaged Good and as one who may have caused damage to others.
