Cranford UMC has been serving Cranford, NJ and surrounding communities for over 150 years. Our facilities house our congregation and are home to many community-enhancing entities including The Christian Connection Before/After School Program, The Counceling Center for Human Development, Boy Scout Troop 75, Celebration Singers, multiple Anonymous Groups, and many more! In fact, the ministries and programs of this place touch over 3,000 unique individuals each year!
We are thrilled to have a ministry of hospitality in this place, but we acknowledge that our multiple story facilities (built in 1954 and 1963 respectively) are not up to par in terms of accessibility. Through Phase I of our "Open Doors Campaign" It is our intention to bring our facilities into ADA compliance through the creation of an accessible restroom and an elevator. These projects plus the building upgrades and modifications they require will cost in the neighborhood of $425,000.
As of January 2016, over $290,000 had been raised toward these projects. $125,000 was used to replace the roof on our Education Building which is the first part of Phase I. This leaves $165,000 left in the Campaign fund and $260,000 needed for the construction of an elevator to take place.
Our goal of this challenge is to raise $2,200 in 2 weeks while also eclipsing 200 likes on our Facebook page. We need your help to meet this challenge!
