Dexter is a 6 mo old, happy go lucky puppy who is suffering from an old injury, now an angular deformity. Who knows what happened to him? We sure do not but we DO know that he has twisted, turned, jumped and caused a fracture in this tibia and that will require repair. Dr. Hugh Davis, our veterinarian will perform a wedge ostectomy to correct Dexter's fractured tibia. Once the surgery happens, the prognosis is excellent. He'll continue to grow normally and live a full and active life.
Charles is a 4 mo old sweetie who ALSO injured himself while playing last weekend. Dr. Davis diagnosed a serious injury to Charles' patella and he will undergo patella insertion repair so that HE will continue to grow normally and also live a full and active life.
Dr. Davis, our veterinarian at Northwood Veterinary Hospital, will perform both surgeries. He has generously offered a discounted rate for both of these surgeries. In addition to both surgeries, the pups will need 2-3 follow up xrays and visits to be sure that all is healing well.
Here at Mary's Dogs, we're taking what we're handed and going forward. Neither of these puppies has a home at this point. Let's face it. Who wants to adopt a dog who requires a $2000 surgery? The best course of action for these two pups is immediate surgery so that we can get them on their way. On to a better life.
