This Giving Tuesday, Be Part of the Miracle of Blessing Israel!

"I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3)

This Giving Tuesday, we would like to invite  you to prayerfully consider blessing Israel through partnering with Adullam, a place of refuge and healing for former Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox youth at risk.

Recent heartbreaking stories of overdose and suicide by former Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox young people reveal the complex trauma and challenges they face when trying to leave their strictly observant and isolated communities. According to a study by the suicide prevention group Bishvil Hachayyim (“For Life”), 40 precent of Israelis who have left religious communities have suicidal tendencies compared with 12 percent among the secular and 6 percent among the religious.

Former Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox young people go through isolation, heartache, and much adversity after being rejected by their families and communities. Their vulnerability is compounded by their lack of mainstream education and basic life skills (such as knowledge of computers and languages), temptations to experiment with risky lifestyles without understanding the dangers involved and the pressure of having to integrate into mainstream Israeli society without being socialized in it. 

Recognising the need to demonstrate G-D's heart of compassion to these vulnerable young people, Hands of Mercy has bravely stepped out to help and support this community. Through G-D's miraculous provision, we have successfully opened the Adullam Outreach Center in the heart of the Old City in Jerusalem to serve these precious "lost sheep of Israel". 

Adullam’s vision is to create a safe communal space, where these vulnerable former Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox young people can belong, build community and encounter the love of their Heavenly Father after having gone through a painful and traumatic rejection by their families and communities. Young people will be provided with opportunities to socialize and create self-help groups, go through counselling and access free courses. We also aim to provide young people with safe housing opportunities at a later stage of the project.  

This Giving Tuesday, we would like to thank you for  opening your hearts and extending your hands to support former Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox youth at risk in Israel. 

As partakers of G-D's divine promises, we are blessed, so that we can become a blessing. We are reminded of the faithfulness of the G-D of Israel, as together, we reach out to bring a message of hope, restoration, acceptance and purpose to these precious "lost sheep of Israel" through the vision of Adullam.
