Vilna Gaon State Jewish museum opened famous Litvak abstractionist Yehoshua Kovarsky's (1907-1967) exhibition, called 'From Chaos to Covenant', which is open till September, 2019. It is great opportunity to display in Lithuania the  unique paintings of Litvak Yehoshua Kovarsky, who was born in Vilnius and later emigrated to United States. In search for opportunities in life and his own way of expression, Kovarsky relied on his imagination when creating artwork on the topic of ancient Middle East myths, primordial images and the mystery of the creation of the world and had unique way of reflecting it all in his bright and colourful paintings.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the reinstatement of the Museum.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the artist‘s relatives, his nephew David Finkelstein and niece Sandra Ben-Artzi from the USA, for their valuable gift – 28 large-scale paintings by Kovarsky.

Unfortunately one important painting was not brought in Lithuania yet and Museum is willing to bring it for the current exhibition. Painting belongs to triptych, called 'Theft of the Fruit. Eve', 1951-1960 (the centre part and right panel are already exhibited in the museum, the left panel is missing). Please, help us to gather all three paintings of the triptych to symbolically close the chaos.

We kindly ask You to donate money for the painting's shipping, crating and export/handling documents, which is counted to be 820,00 dollars. With Your help, we could enrich Museum's collections and display this painting in Y. Kovarsky's exhibition.

We understand the importance to exhibit the unique artworks of famous Litvak, to show the multicultural Vilnius memory, especially Jewish heritage to Vilnius citizens, guests and tourists today.
