About SEW

Support Education Worldwide (S.E.W.) began with a serendipitous relationship between our Founder and President Malee Kenworthy and Sister Zeph, an educator and activist working on a grassroots level in Pakistan.  The two came together because Malee reached out to Sister Zeph online when Malala posted a documentary, FLight of the Falcons, on her Facebook page.

S.E.W. helped Sister Zeph’s school, Zephaniah Free Education go from having no roof or proper bathroom to having a large school building that can fill the needs of both primary and secondary students, a van for transportation, more school teachers, security, and resources to help those who cannot help themselves in her village.

It was through this bridge between East and West that miracles have been happening and walls of extremism and misunderstandings have been torn down.

This is how S.E.W. began, and we are growing and expanding to benefit other schools and programs, creating and expanding opportunity for students everywhere.

About Sister Zeph

Sister Zeph’s mission is to spread education in each corner of the World

In the beginning, there was only one student, I started it in open air. When I started, there was no pen, no notebook and I only had a few books. In the summer, we would sit under the sun, in winter we would sit under blankets made as tents. When it rains, we would have a leave from school. Our roof was the sky. Our limit was the sky.

Current needs of Zephaniah Free Education

• We need one UPS (Electricity back up system), Security cameras, Water filter, internet for new school, Bio metric attendance system. Principle chair, principle table, reception chair, we still have to paint outside of the building, three new fans, bulbs for the building, more paint for the wall paintings and one stitching machine.
• We also have to have uniform and sweaters for the staff for winter
• We also have to hire teachers in future who will have a bachelor’s degree whose salary will be $150 a month.
  

About Tracy Settler

My mission to offer quality education to children who could not afford it otherwise. The overwhelming task of getting children re-enrolled in school and out of child labour, helping to provide essential medical care for entire families, providing basic life essentials like rice and drinking water, repairing homes and often working to diffuse domestic violence situations while trying to build and operate a school. The work is often emotionally draining but the rewards are immeasurable. This year, we will send our very first student off to study at university!

What Kind Of Support Can I Help To Provide?

• School supplies - We have nearly 200 students at present with a dual grade level kindergarten and full primary 1- 4 program. 
• Food and nutrition - The daily snack that we try and provide to our students when our funding allows us to do so. 
• Projects! Project Based Learning Resources. Field trips, etc.,
• Teacher and staff salaries - We simply could not operate the school without our dedicated teachers and tuk tuk driver. We are proud to have teachers who've made it their mission to improve the education and quality of life for our students. $850 per month for all staff.
• Maintenance of school facilities. This is Cambodia and unfortunately maintenance is a large and consistent cost for us. $20-$75 per month.
• Building our soccer field/pitch and installing two goals. $1,000
• School licenses and other administrative functions.
