In 1990, when Susan Johnson invited her friends to the first All Souls Procession, she sought respite and a process that could move her through her grief.
We believe that the complex emotional needs of humans beg complex responses that engage our minds, all our senses, our hands and creative impulses in acts of connectivity and togetherness.
The All Souls Procession Weekend has grown into multiple events and projects.
The Procession of Little Angels is for families with small children.
Free Community Workshops channel grief into artworks that can be worn and carried in the 2-mile Processional walk through Tucson’s oldest Barrios adjacent to the River.
The Procession and Finale are a massive multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary outpouring of emotion and devotion.
Crossing lines of race, age, and gender, participants literally and metaphorically forge paths to healing and resilience by walking and honoring their grief within the container of community.
We welcome over 150,000 participants from all over the region and the world.

Over 200 community volunteers guide the 2 mile Procession though Tucson's Historic Barrios.
