What do we do?

MMOS provides space and opportunity for Arts to be at the center of public life, whether in celebration or in mourning.

 Our signature event, The  Annual All Souls Procession, welcomes over 100,000 people from all over the world. We walk together through the oldest Barrios in Tucson to Honor the dead and Celebrate the Living.

This year's Procession will be held November 1, 2024- Nov. 3rd, 2024.

We need to raise over 150,000 Dollars to close and clean streets, pay for Security and Produce the Finale Ceremony.

 That's about $2 for every attendee.

Many Mouths One Stomach refers to the collective need in our community to be fed and the recognition that what feeds one may feed all.

MMOS has been at the heart of the arts and culture scene in Tucson since the 1990s. When we began, there was a great need in our community for meaningful responses to grief and loss. We needed markers that were relevant for celebration and rites of passage. The lack of a coherent tradition left people feeling unanchored.

• We discovered that using hands-on models to gain skills in craft-making and performance imbue the procession with personal meaning.
• The act of walking together entrains our movement and bonds us together.
• We enact a community-created ceremony where everyone’s wishes and losses are placed together in a sacred container and transformed by fire.

We discovered our work by doing the work and now our mission is to nurture festal culture and community-created ceremony without branding or co-opting by large corporate pressures.
