Bonnie is part of a bonded pair which includes "Shotzie" a dachshund.

Both are 11 year old females and have been together since they were puppies. Unfortunately, their person died recently and none of her family stepped in to take them, so these 2 sweet seniors were headed to the shelter where they would be split up and their future unknown.

Many thanks to The Jacksonville Dog Cafe & Kamp Kritter who worked with DARE to make this rescue happen and for stepping in to keep these two sweethearts together by caring for them. Shortly after being resuced it was discovered that Bonnie had horrible bladder stones which would required emergency surgery...on a HOLIDAY weekend!

The surgery was a success and LOOK at the size of those stones!

Yes - We know that Bonnie is not a doxie, but they are bonded and splitting them up would have been cruel. After losing their owner we just couldnt do that to them, so we are happy to say Bonnie and Shotize will now be together as long as they are alive, as either DARE fosters or until their next forever family finds them.

This was a VERY exspensive surgery performed on a holiday weekend and it was very unplaned by DARE, but when you see these two girls together you know we made the right decsion to rescue both of them.

So we are asking you to please help us, help a doxie and her sister...they are both fosters of DARE now and we will continue to provide the best possible care for both of them.

We hope you can help with their care and Bonnie's surgery cost by clicking to donate here.
