Helping those animals in the most desperate circumstances and need is what we do best and this year has already started with some very serious cases and we are asking our friends and supporters to donate just a couple of pounds to help us continue this essential, life saving work.
We have had a large number of animals needing extensive dental work, exploratory tests, hospitalisation, xrays and surgery. Tomorrow one of those, Davina a Westie puppy with a suspected liver shunt, will undergo specialist scanning to determine the cause of her health issues. We have a Bulldog that has been having daily dressing changes because of a very large wound on her leg, dogs needing large numbers of broken and decayed teeth removed, hernias, a cat with paralysis, kidney and liver problems, cronic long term ear infections, eye removel, a pup with a deformed paw that needed surgery and so it has gone on almost every day this month.
We have already incurred a bill of almost £5,000 at our main vets and it will be nearer £7,000 by the month end. This comes after one of our most difficult years in 2016 and at a time of year when fundraising becomes even harder and without additional support we will struggle to to meet the challenges of this new year.
