THE MUSEUM THAT SHARES THE CULTURE AND IDENTITY OF LITHUANIAN JEWS
The new museum presents up to eighteen
modern and interactive exhibitions designed by the renowned architect,
Vytautas Biekša, and includes unique exhibit items related to the rich
and versatile Litvak heritage. It will offer its visitors, both from
within and outside Lithuania, a comprehensive overview of the
unparalleled and ultimately important history of the Jews in Lithuania
and the Vilnius region.
The museum’s concept is to present the
history, culture, traditions, and legacy of the Litvak community, and
the evolution of the various movements of Judaism. It will also
explore the history of world-renowned members of the Litvak community,
from Nobel Prize laureates, writers, and composers, to internationally
recognized
artists, musicians, directors, and Hollywood celebrities.
