Our story:
Lazy Harry’s Bar and Grill has been a beloved establishment in the Dalessandro family for 30 years. This charming building in Bullhead City Arizona, constructed over 50 years ago in 1963, stands proudly on the shores of the Colorado River, nestled in a quaint area of town, surrounded by an enchanting lagoon.
When the Covid pandemic forced us to close, we recognized that her delicate condition needed a lot of love and care. Thus began our journey of restoration. With the help of a few great friends, we took on the challenge ourselves, gently dismantling her with our own bare hands.
With her rich character, intriguing history, and stunning location, we realized that Lazy Harry’s was always meant to be a tiki bar, and we’re excited to breathe new life into this special place.
The Spirit:
For many years, our staff has reported that Lazy Harry’s is haunted. There have been sightings of shadows, objects mysteriously falling, a lingering feeling of being watched, and items appearing in unexpected places. During our restoration, we experienced all of this firsthand.
Some mornings, we found tools we had used the day before inexplicably relocated to another room. We heard the sound of falling objects when nothing had actually fallen. We have heard footsteps echoing on the original wood plank floor, and sensed a constant presence of being watched.
Despite these occurrences, we’ve never felt afraid. Instead, we reassure this delicate gem that we are dedicated to making her beautiful again. We believe that whoever or whatever this presence may be is simply curious and a bit startled about everything happening around her.
Our goal:
Our goal is to restore Lazy Harry’s into a safe, updated structure, and we’re almost there! Once completed, we will transform her into a one-of-a-kind tiki bar on the Colorado River, welcoming everyone to enjoy her charm by boat, car, or on foot. Throughout the restoration, we’ve faced many challenges and setbacks that have tried to slow us down. However, our family refuses to quit. Each obstacle only strengthens our resolve to restore her adventurous and nautical allure. We are driven by our family legacy, the support of our community, and our sacred treasure—Lazy Harry’s Tiki Hideaway.

This tiki mug has been a long and rewarding journey. We embarked on this adventure at the end of the COVID pandemic, collaborating with Ken Ruzic to bring this masterpiece to life. Ken expertly incorporated many of our ideas into the design, and he added secret little touches that we’ll reveal at a later time.
The entire process took approximately two years to complete. If you’re wondering how it works, first you need to find a talented, legendary, and imaginative tiki artist like Ken Ruzic. After multiple meetings to develop a design you love, you choose the glaze colors. Once the final drawing is approved, a 3D version is created for review. After that, you receive samples of different colors and select your favorite. Finally, you wait for the pandemic to subside so the mugs can be produced and shipped to us. We are incredibly proud of this mug, especially since it’s our first, and we can’t wait for you to own a piece of Lazy Harry’s Tiki Hideaway!

This is an 8x10 glossy print of Lazy Harry’s, envisioned through the eyes of tiki artist Ken "Kinny" Ruzic. Ken requested a couple of photos of the exterior along with our vision, and he then crafted this inspirational masterpiece.
Using a wood-burning technique for the outline, he infused the artwork with vibrant colors to bring out its true character. This print was photographed from the original artwork and is personally signed by Kinny. As the first piece of art created for us, it will not only serve as a focal point on the walls of Lazy Harry’s but also lay the foundation for the interior theme of Lazy Harry’s Tiki Hideaway
