A small group of women formed the Women Refugees Advocacy Project, WRAP, united by our deep concern for women and girls suffering in war .   Chris McDowell is a member.

Ukrainian Women and Children
WRAP is working with Persons Against Non-State Torture in Nova Scotia to raise support for Ukrainian women and children as they struggle to survive Russia's on-going horrific war against Ukraine. They need our help now more than ever.

All monies raised go to the women-led Democracy Development Centre NGO in Ukraine, providing no-strings-attached funds enabling the women on the ground to better meet the emergencies created by the chaos of war. 

Yazidi Women and Girls
Originally, WRAP was devoted to recognizing and responding to the devastating harm inflicted on Yazidi women and girls by ISIS, perpetrators of genocide against the Yazidi people in Sinjar, Iraq. Please see our website for more information.
